Welcoming Fall

It’s been a fairly cool summer here in Utah, with chilly evenings and cool days, along with intermittent blasts of heat, perfect weather to spend crocheting gifts in preparation for Christmas.

This issue is packed with scarves, hats, cowls, and mittens, plus a pet turtle for our furry kids and a notebook cover and Bento carrier for school or office use.

We have several product reviews, including one for some luxurious yak down yarn, and a store review from a reader on her favorite local yarn store.

I’m still needing some advertisers so we can give a small honorarium to our designers and technical editors, so if you are interested in placing a small add in the Winter issue, please send an e-mail to adverts@crochetuncut.com.  I’d like to offer a special rate of $10 for a banner or small ad. The ads will remain a permanent part of the issue and will also be placed in the PDF version of the issue once it is put together.

For our designers or hopeful designers, don’t forget about the two special issues coming in 2010. The Spring 2010 issue will concentrate on patterns for kids, from newborn to early teens while the Summer 2010 issue will be a wedding issue. So, don’t wait to start designing – get them done early so you have enough time to get the patterns tested before submitting them. Check out the FAQs for information on requesting author status and the pattern template. I’m looking forward to seeing what you all come up with.

Thanks to everyone for your continued support!
