Working

Work stitches loosely, especially the slip stitch as the hdc is made in each slip stitch.

Width To increase width, add two sts to the fsc for each 1/2″ being added. Make sure you have an even number of sts in the fsc.

Foundation Row Make a 28 st fsc.
Row 1

Ch 1, turn, sl st in first st, *hdc in next st, sl st in next st,* rep from * to * across ending with a hdc.

Row 2 Ch 1, turn, sl st in first hdc, *hdc in next sl st, sl st in next hdc,* rep from * to * across ending with a hdc.
Rows 3-30 Rep row 2. Check length to ensure it is the same as the width, approx. 6″. If you made the sts too tight, then you may need to add additional rows.
Row 31 Ch 1, turn, sc in ea st across. Fasten off.

Finishing …

Weave in ends.
