Construction

All rounds are worked in a spiral. Use stitch marker to mark last stitch of each round, move up as you finish each round.

Leave long tails (At least 10 inches, longer for the face) on hands, feet, head, and face pieces for sewing together.

I recommend using an adjustable slip knot for beginning chains to be able to tighten ring openings in the center of each piece. Lay working end of yarn across palm, bring tail end over to form loop, insert hook from top to bottom and pull up loop of tail, tighten on hook by pulling tail.

Head, hands, and feet are all constructed with what is traditionally the “wrong side” of sc as the right side.

Body is worked in the round, so do not join at end of each round unless specifically mentioned in pattern.

Finishing …

Weave in center tails for each piece. Do not cut center tails for hands and feet.

Push center tails down into hands and feet, sew ending tail around stitches in final round as a drawstring.

Stuff hands and feet lightly with polyfil and snug up tail to close opening, making a soft little ball. Close with a few stitches.

Attach safety eyes and embroider mouth on face (if giving to child under 3 years of age, embroider eyes). Match up face and head so last sts fit side by side. Use whip stitch to sew them together until a 1.5 inch opening remains, stuff lightly with polyfil then finish seam.

Sew head, hands, and feet snuggly to edge of body according to photo or your preference. Weave in remaining ends.
